Tillman Participates In Nameing Of Elvis Ave. Tillman Franks participated in the re-naming of Grand Ave. to Elvis Presley Ave. in Shreveport, La. on Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, which was Elvis' Birthday. The street runs in front of the Municipal Auditorium, where Elvis got his first big break on the famed Louisiana Hayride.
Tillman spoke at the ceremony and recalled how he helped Elvis get started on the Hayride. He recalled that back when Elvis was stuggling and trying to make it in the buisness.
An Elvis Tribute Show was held that night at the Municipal Auditorium and it featured Ronnie McDowell and the Jordanaires.
