Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Swift Jr. of Waco, Texas turned out to meet Tillman Franks at Waldenbooks in Waco on Saturday morning, Dec. 16, 2000. It was Mr. Swift's father, Dr. Clifford Swift, who sewed up Tillman's head when he was in the tragic wreck that took Johnny Horton's life on Nov. 5, 1960

Charles F. Hundle, right, of Cameron, Texas came out to Waco to visit with Tillman. In the center is Brian Hundle, Charles' son. Charles is Vice - President of the First National Bank of Cameron and was set to retire the end of December.

Tillman autographs a book for Sarah Logan of Waco, who is the daughter - in - law of Horace Logan of Seadrift, Texas. Horace was on KWKH in Shreveport as program director when the Louisiana Hayride started on April 3, 1948. Horace produced and directed the Hayride for several years. Sarah is married to Tommy Logan. Horace also has a book out entitled, "Elvis, Hank and Me," which details his life with the Hayride.
