On Saturday, Feburary 9, 1946, right after I came home from the service, I married the love of my life, Virginia Hellen Suber. These photos are of Virginia and me about the time we married. Claude and Barbara King attended our wedding. Claude's brother, George King, paid the preacher and bought the hamburgers after the wedding. On our wedding night, I played bass down at KWKH in Shreveport, La. and left Virginia at home. During the program, Hal Burns dedicated the song "I Got to Have Some Loving" to Virginia who was waiting at home. I was working with Hal Burns and Dick Hart. |
